how this started

 

Well here we are in the prime of our lives!   Right?!   Yehh - let's go with that!    

That's the conversation I was recently having with a group of girlfriends over a nice bottle of red wine (well several actually).   Some of these friends just rounded that corner to 50 - several have been there for a few years and others are fast approaching the half century mark.   We all agreed that we would never want to re-do our 20's or even 30's - that we were in a much better place!   

...and we talked about all the topics that go along with being in this "place" - including career changes (midlife crisis? or just no longer willing to put up with BS?) - kids entering high school and college (loss? or liberation?) - husbands sleeping in different rooms (snores for him - night sweats for her),  sex (the good - the bad and the - "what sex?") - new wrinkles (to Botox or not to Botox?)... life  and death - triumphs and challenges - and there was more - so much more...

So much in fact that it later occurred to me that there is so much we do talk about - that our mothers never did when they were our age.   Yet, there is still so much that we don't talk about - that we should! 

So this site was born!  To celebrate, laugh, discuss, inform and debate all that is life in mid-life - you know - the "new 30's".   A place that our Mothers never had - where women from all over the planet who have nothing and everything in common can come to meet and hang out for a while.

What can you expect when you come here?   A little fun, humor, some serious stuff, information you can use, food for thought (and food too), we'll get a little "retro" and do some looking back and a lot of looking forward!   

Life is good!   We're still here and we've got some butt kicking to do!  So grab your reading glasses (how much does that suck?!) and let's have some fun!
